Per NFL Prospect analyst Gil Brandt:
Twenty-three NFL teams were represented, watching 15 players work out on FieldTurf at the Purdue Pro Day. Seahawks defensive line coach Dan Quinn was among those in attendance. Here are the notable players:
DT Alex Magee (6-foot-2 3/8, 286 pounds) ran a 4.82 and 4.85 in the 40, had a 9-foot, 5-inch broad jump, a 4.42 short shuttle, a 7.15 three-cone drill and kept his bench press from the combine.
WR Greg Orton (6-2 3/4, 210 pounds) ran a 4.63 and 4.61 in the 40, but kept everything else from the combine.
QB Curtis Painter (6-2 7/8, 223 pounds) did position drills, and though he will take some time to develop, he flashed a very good arm.
RB Kory Sheets (5-11 3/8, 207 pounds) kept everything from the combine, but he ran a 4.33 short shuttle.
LB Anthony Heygood (6-0 3/4, 225 pounds) ran a 4.67 and 4.71 in the 40, had a 33 1/2-inch vertical, a 10-foot, 10-inch broad jump, a 4.30 short shuttle, a 7.10 three-cone drill and put up 18 bench press reps at 225 pounds.
Of all the Purdue prospects I really like Kory Sheets and Alex Magee. I think Magee can be a disruptive UT in a 4-3 scheme as his speed, size, strength and natural ability will give a lot of flat footed guards fits at the next level. I think he has potential to be a fourth round selection but a team could fall in love with him and he could go earlier.
Same goes for Kory Sheets, he has the potential and skill to be a great compliment back as he catches well out of the back field, runs hard and has the low mileage considering. I think he is also a fourth round selection but that is purely based on the fact that running back doesn't seem to be a huge need in this draft for NFL teams.
