Florida Pro Day

It was a beautiful day in Gainesville, Florida as the National Champion Florida Gators put their athletes through the paces at their annual Pro Day... and from the sounds of it, they didn't disappoint either.

Percy Harvin set the stage for the other Florida hopefuls by looking very impressive and putting himself into first round contention. But before I go further, I just want to say that in the past Florida receivers have been given a bad rep and you shouldn't judge what you draft based on past instances because I feel the two Florida WRs Murphy and Harvin be the guys to bunk this trend, either way, moving on to the results.

Harvin (5-foot-11 3/4, 193 pounds) He kept his running-drill numbers from the combine, but had a 37.5" vertical jump and a 10'1" broad jump and did 20 bench-press lifts. He looked exceptional in position drills and caught the ball well and showed great explosion getting off the line and in and out of his cuts.

Here are the stats for the remaining players from the Florida Pro Day as provided by the lovely folks at NFL.com:

Cornelius Ingram, he ran 4.72 and 4.69 seconds in the 40-yard dash, had a 9-foot, 6-inch broad jump and was sharp in position drills.

WR Louis Murphy (6-2 5/8, 207 pounds) ran a 4.45-second short shuttle and a 6.95-second three-cone drill. He ran position drills.

OT Jason Watkins (6-5 3/4, 319 pounds) did 19 bench-press reps, but he kept the rest of his numbers from the combine. He did position workouts.

OT Phil Trautwein (6-6, 308 pounds) ran 5.40 and 5.36 seconds in the 40, had a 27-inch vertical and an 8-foot, 3-inch broad jump and did 23 bench-press reps.
