Virginia Pro Day

Top flight offensive tackle and another contender for the number one overall selection in the NFL draft worked out today at the Virginia Pro Day. I'm talking about the talented pass blocker in Eugene Monroe.

Monroe measured in at 6'5" and 312 lbs. and kept all of his numbers from the scouting combine. However, he did do position drills and was said to have looked very good. Cincinnati Bengals offensive line coach Paul Alexander put him through his paces and Monroe seems to passed with flying colours as he is without a doubt in contention for the number one selection this coming April.

As for the remaining Virginia players, here's how they fared courtesy of NFL.com:

LB Clint Sintim (6-3, 253 pounds) ran 4.44 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.54 seconds in the three-cone drill, and he did position drills.

RB/KR Cedric Peerman (5-9 5/8, 211 pounds) ran 4.47 seconds in the short shuttle and kept the rest of his workout numbers from the combine.

Sintim is a borderline 1st rounder who could go as early as #23 to the Patriots and as late as the mid second round to a 4-3 team looking for a strongside back who can blitz the quarterback or to a 3-4 team looking for that weakside edge rusher.
