12 NFL teams showed up to watch athletes from "Stone Cold" Stephen F. Austin workout and brave the incredibly powerful winds that were recorded at up to 20 mph! (That's over 32 KMs/hr for us Canadians!)
Here are the results courtesy of NFL.com, but be warned, Stone Cold U is likely not to see any prospects get drafted until at the very earliest late seventh based on potential and measureables alone.
WR Dominique Edison (6-2 3/8, 196 pounds) ran a 4.42 in the 40 with the wind and a 4.53 against the wind, and turned in a 7.09 time in the three-cone drill.
TE Tyrell Williams (6-4 3/8, 252 pounds) turned in 40 times of 4.72 seconds and 4.95 seconds. He had a 32-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump, with times of 4.40 in the short shuttle and 7.50 in the three-cone drill. He did 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Texas A&M FB Jorvorskie Lane (5-11 7/8, 297 pounds) was going to work out at Stephen F. Austin, but pro day rules didn’t permit it, so he went to a nearby high school in Lufkin, Texas, to work out for scouts. He ran outdoors on FieldTurf, and had 40-yard dash times of 5.00 and 5.11. He didn’t do the vertical leap but had an 8-foot, 9-inch broad jump with a 4.51 short shuttle and a 7.64 three-cone drill. He did 17 reps on the bench.
