Prospect Update: Vaughn Martin

It seems as though another Canadian is on the NFL Draft horizon. First Bishop's RB Jamall Lee and now Western DT Vaughn Martin. Both were recently talked about by NFL.com writer Steve Wyche and it seems as though if they aren't drafted in the later rounds they could see themselves getting consideration as UDFA or camp invites. Kind of like former McMaster RB Jesse Lumsden or Ottawa OT Ibrahim Khan.

Vaughn Martin weighed in at 327 lbs. and measured at 6'4". For a defensive tackle that is pretty friggin' gigantic. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 5.04 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 32 times. It was a pretty impressive workout for a Canadian defensive linemen who are known for being a tad slower and a tad weaker but he's looked quite explosive... just ask one of the Charger's scouts.

Something tells me he doesn't get drafted but he may make a team as a camp guy, spend a year on practice squad and move up when he has matured because something tells me he hasn't quite hit that part of his life yet.
