Mississippi State Pro Day

8 NFL teams attended the Mississippi State Pro Day to watch 22 athletes from the Bulldogs and other local schools. The big name prospect was safety Derek Pegues who could see himself drafted in the third or fourth round. He's a solid prospect who projects as a free safety in the NFL. Here are the results for the Pro Day courtesy once again of the great people at NFL.com:

DB Derek Pegues (5-9 5/8, 194 pounds), who mostly stood on his numbers from the combine, though he participated in position drills and turned in times of 4.57 and 4.54 in the 40-yard dash.

WR Jamayel Smith (6-0 3/8, 186 pounds) looked great with times of 4.50 and 4.52 in the 40 and a 39-inch vertical with a 10-foot, 2-inch broad jump. He also had a 4.00 short-shuttle and ran a 6.82 three-cone drill, with 13 reps on the bench press.
