Northern Illinois Pro Day

Numerous NFL teams were present at the Northern Illinois Pro Day, otherwise known as the Larry English Pro Day as he is the only Northern Illinois Huskie of any merit this draft season and he put on a show for the coaches and scouts in attendance.

DE/LB Larry English measured in at 6'2" and weighed in at 251 pounds. English had times of 4.70 and 4.74 in the 40-yard dash, and he did position drills as a defensive end and dropped back into coverage. I think Larry English is a first round pick as a 4-3 LDE or a 3-4 WOLB. He has great speed, strength and intensity and I really love how he plays the game.

Britt Davis (6-2 5/8, 211) posted times of 4.50 and 4.51 in the 40-yard dash, 4.27 in the short shuttle and 7.14 in the three-cone drill. Davis recorded a 33-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 5-inch broad jump and 16 strength lifts.

Matt Simon (6-1 3/8, 199) ran a 4.49 and 4.51 in the 40-yard dash, 4.41 short shuttle and 7.14 three-cone drill. Simon added a 36-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump and 14 bench press lifts.
