Michigan State Pro Day

*sung to the tune of Turn the Page*

On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha, watching the Michigan State Spartans were 24 scouts. They don't feel much like writing but wish the draft through-ooh-ooh. Here I am, Javon Ringer said! Here I am, Brandon Long too! Here I go-ooh-ooh, play the star again. Here I go, Michigan State!

As you can tell, Javon Ringer and Brandon Long kicked it up a notch at the Michigan State Pro Day by absolutely destroying the track with blistering speed and incredible measurables. Javon Ringer ran one of the fastest short shuttle times ever recorded by being timed at 3.89! That is ridonk! To go along with that the 5'9" 203 lb. Ringer added a 4.50 forty yard dash and 6.66 three cone.

Ringer may have looked good but he didn't compare to the talk of the day in DE/LB Brandon "Where did I come from?" Long. The 6'3" 254 pounders turned in an icnredibly impressive performance by torching the forty yard dash with a 4.61 to go along with a 10'9" broad jump, 37.5" vertical jump, 4.37 short shuttle, 6.88 three cone drill and 32 reps with 225. Yeah, this boy is gonna be jumping up draft boards.

Here are the remaining Michigan State stats courtesy of NFL.com:

QB Brian Hoyer (6-1 7/8, 216 pounds) stood on all of his numbers from the combine.

S Otis Wiley (6-1, 212 pounds) ran times of 4.64 and 4.67 in the 40 with a 35 1/2-inch vertical and a 9-foot, 10-inch broad jump. He had a 4.34 short shuttle and a 6.97 three-cone drill, with 9 reps on the bench press.

OT Jesse Miller (6-6, 320 pounds) ran the 40 in 5.49 and 5.48 and had a 22-inch vertical leap and an 8-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He had a 4.85 short shuttle and a 7.81 three-cone drill, with 25 reps on the bench press.

I like Otis Wiley, but 9 reps from a STRONG safety, uhm, no thanks. Brian Hoyer is an interesting prospect in the 6th round and Jesse Miller is a UDFA at best.
