Many teams were in attendance to watch the Penn State Pro Day as there are a lot of potential studs who could be taken early, none likely to go more higher then the explosive defensive end Aaron Maybin. Maybin has put on a huge amount of weight and muscle mass since the season finished and it is kind of bringing in discussions about performance enhancing drugs as he has gone from around 220 lbs. to 250 lbs. Which is kind of freakish if you ask me. But at the Combine Maybin had trouble carrying the extra weight and it seemed to be a very big problem but suffice to say, he has learned the carry the extra weight as is evidence from his Pro Day results which go as follows: Maybin measured in at 6'4" 250 lbs. He ran a 4.71 and 4.64 in the forty, had an impressive 40" vertical jump and 10'10" broad jump and his arms measured in at 35 3/4-inches.
As for the remaining Penn State contingent like Derrick Williams, A.Q. Shipley and Lydell Sargeant, their results can be found here courtesy of NFL.com:
CB Deon Butler (5-10 3/8, 181 pounds) had a 4.23 short shuttle and kept the rest of his numbers from the combine.
OT Gerald Cadogan (6-5 1/2, 310 pounds), had a 25-inch vertical, an 8-foot, 3-inch broad jump and his arms measured 35 3/4 inches.
DE Maurice Evans (6-1 3/4, 270 pounds) ran a 4.78 and 4.84 in the 40, had a 30-inch vertical, a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump, a 4.32 short shuttle, a 7.03 three-cone drill and did 22 bench press reps.
WR Jordan Norwood (5-10 7/8, 184 pounds) ran a 4.58 and 4.63 in the 40, had a 10-foot broad jump, a 4.18 short shuttle and a 6.91 three-cone drill.
WR Lydell Sargeant (5-9 1/4, 187 pounds) ran a 4.48 and 4.50 in the 40, had a 10-foot broad jump, a 4.20 short shuttle and a 6.93 three-cone drill.
DB Anthony Scirrotto (5-11 3/4, 202 pounds) only did the bench press due to an injured hamstring. He put up the bar 11 times.
OL A.Q. Shipley (6-1 1/8, 306 pounds) kept everything from the combine.
WR Derrick Williams (5-11 5/8, 198 pounds) ran a 4.47 and 4.50 in the 40, had a 9-foot, 7-inch broad jump, a 4.21 short shuttle, a 6.96 three-cone drill and 18 bench press reps.
