Matty's Rookie of the Week

Hello everyone and welcome back to Matty's Rookie of the Week, the week 16 edition. The playoff picture is becoming ever clearer and some rookies are really stepping up and helping out their teams deep into the season at a bevy of different positions and I don't think we've ever had seen two such successful rookie QBs and I gotta say, things are looking good for the future. So without further delay, lets get into the trenches and find out who I have as my rookie of the week!

Matty's Rookie of the Week

Joe Flacco, QB
6'6" 230 lbs
Delaware
1st round pick, 18th overall
17/25 for 149 yards and 1 TD

Joe Flacco may not have been a stat giant this week but he is the main reason to why the Ravens have a serious shot at doing some damage during the playoffs. He is being very efficient with his throws as of recent and he has looked good under constant pressure, especially the last two weeks with facing the Steelers and the Cowboys, he has poise and has not made any costly mistakes and has put the Ravens in charge of locking up the last wild card spot in the AFC, congrats Joe!

Runner Ups:

Offense

Chris Johnson, RB
5'11" 200 lbs
East Carolina
1st round pick, 24th overall
16 rushes, 69 yards and 1 TD

Defense

Jason Jones, DE/DT
6'5" 275 lbs
Eastern Michigan
2nd round pick, 54th overall
5 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 3 FF

Stayed tuned for the final regular season ROTW at the conclusion of week 17!
