It's been a long time coming but Matty and the All Day Football team has got the top 25 teams for the upcoming NCAA 2009 Season. Some selections will surprise, others will not but when it all boils down to it, here are the teams that I think will be ones to watch when it comes to post-season bowl and BCS games.
Top 10
1. Florida Gators - Surprise, surprise, the defending National Champions are #1 on my pre-season list. Although they lost talented receivers Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy the Gators have a wealth of talent at running back and not to mention King Tebow is still at school looking for a second Heisman and a third National Championship. Mix the high octane offense with a suffocating defense including Dunlap, Cunningham, Spikes and Haden and the Gators could easily three-peat.
2. Oklahoma Sooners - The Big 12 Champion is going to be a two horse race between Texas and Oklahoma and I think that Oklahoma has the edge since they return 2008 Heisman winner Sam Bradford, two 1000 yard rushers in Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray and a nasty nasty defense with 3 potential first round defensive linemen (Granger, McCoy and English), I think Oklahoma will be a very dangerous team.
3. Texas Longhorns - The Longhorns actually bested the Sooners last season but lost out on a big time BCS Bowl Game but with Colt McCoy back at the helm and a pretty solid receiving corps still intact and a great offensive line the Longhorns could easily find themselves playing long into December and maybe even a game in January but they'll have to go through the Red River Shootout to get there as I feel the winner of that game will represent the Big 12 as Champ.
4. Penn State Nittany Lions - The Nittany Lions felt a lot of big time losses this past season with losing Aaron Maybin, Gerald Cadogan and receivers Deon Butler and Derrick Williams but they will still be a force in the Big Ten as they return QB Daryl Clark who is an electric playmaker along with running back Evan Royster and a defense with yet again some of the best linebackers in the country with the returning Sean Lee and emerging Navarro Bowman. I think Joe-P has another potential BCS contender on his hands.
5. Southern California Trojans - Despite big time losses on defense the Trojans still look to be the class of the Pac-10 and having Pete Carroll outside of the top 5 in pre-season rank just seems silly. It looks as though the Trojans will have an incredibly potent offense despite losing Mark Sanchez at QB. They can rely on the beastly backfield including Stafon Johnson, C.J. Cable and CBK (Cut Back King) Joe McKnight along with the best offensive line in the country and some of the best wide receivers with potential 1st rounder Damian Williams leading the way.
6. Notre Dame Fighting Irish - If there is any year for Weis to get a National Championship win it is this year, he has Jimmy Clausen playing efficiently, he has a solid offensive line led by Sam Young at left tackle and an emerging receiving group who could prove to be one of the nation's best. The Fighting Irish could easily be among the top 5 when the season ends and could see themselves playing for a ring especially if they can get by Carroll's tough as nails Trojan team.
7. Alabama Crimson Tide - Nick Saban had a dominant Crimson Tide team last year but they lost a lot of players including passer John Parker Wilson, RB Glen Coffee, LT Andre Smith, C Antoine Caldwell and defensive leader Rashad Johnson. That is pretty brutal and a newcomer at QB is going to have to rely on the former freshman phenom Julio Jones. Luckily they return a pretty solid defense including potential first rounder Rolando McClain.
8. Mississippi Rebels - In past season, losing multiple first rounders and a bunch of draft picks would cripple the Rebels but Head Coach Houston Nutt still has a great team that will compete game in and game out in the amazingly tough SEC. Jevan Snead is the leading man and could easily be the #1 overall draftpick when the season is out and despite losing Michael Oher and Peria Jerry, the Rebels still return a great offensive and defensive line including future first rounder DE Greg Hardy (so long as he can bounce back from injury).
9. Ohio State Buckeyes - Buckeyes had a brutal season last year and lose defensive leader James Laurinaitis and offensive work horse Chris Wells but they return Terrelle Pryor with a new knowledge of the game and playing experience and should be a big help. The Buckeyes still have a solid defense but will have to find a vocal and physical presence to replace Baby Animal's production on the inside and Donald Washington and Malcolm Jenkins on the outside.
10. Oklahoma State Cowboys - The Cowboys are on the outside looking in when Big 12 contention is the subject but with the triad of Zac Robinson at QB, Dez Bryant at WR and RB Kendall Hunter leading the offense the Cowboys could surprise a lot of teams. Though they do play Texas and Oklahoma, if they surprise those two top 3 teams then the Cowboys could vault themselves right into BCS conention.

Final Mock Draft ver 9.0 Round 6
Round 6:
174. Detroit Lions – Dallas Reynolds, C BYU
With the hundred and seventy fourth selection the Detroit Lions select the versatile Cougar center Dallas Reynolds. Dominic Raiola hasn't necessarily endeared himself to the Detroit fans in the last little while and they could look to replace him once his contract expires, Dallas Reynolds has the size and skill to be a solid addition and a potential starter down the line. Plus, he adds versatility as a guy who can play any interior line position.
175. Kansas City Chiefs – Louis Vasquez, OG Texas Tech
With the hundred and seventy fifth selection the Chiefs select the big guard from Texas Tech in Louis Vasquez. The Chiefs guards are getting old and I can't even think who starts opposite Brian Waters so I think finding a guy who can come in, learn the system and improve his game so that he can start down the road is integral and Vasquez has a lot of upside as an incredibly strong and road grating guard.
176. Atlanta Falcons (from St. Louis) – Blake Schlueter, C TCU
With the hundred and seventy sixth selection the Atlanta Falcons pick the fast rising Horned Frog center Blake Schlueter. Todd McClure may hold out for a new contract and it may be the last hoorah for him in Atlanta so the Falcons need to find someone to replace him in the future and Schlueter is very athletic and could be a great prospect when he is NFL ready in a few years.
177. Cleveland Browns – Johnny Knox, WR Abilene Christian
With the hundred and seventy seventh selection the Browns select the Abilene Christian speedster Johnny Knox. With Braylon Edwards future up in the air, Donte Stallworth looking at serving some jail time the Browns could use a receiver and a slot threat and Knox should easily provide that, not to mention he can push Cribbs to be a better receiver and returner as well.
178. Seattle Seahawks – Seth Olsen, OG Iowa
With the hundred and seventy eighth selection the Seahawks select the big and nasty guard from Iowa in Seth Olsen. The Seahawks have had one heck of a time trying to replace Steve Hutchison and still can't seem to put the pieces together, Seth Olsen is definitely not going to be the next Steve Hutchison but he can be solid depth behind current incumbent starters Whale and Sims and could potentially start years down the road.
179. Cincinnati Bengals – Clinton McDonald, DT Memphis
With the hundred and seventy ninth selection the Cincinnati Bengals select the big defensive tackle from Memphis, the Bengals have some good depth at defensive tackle with Pat Sims, Domata Peko and Tank Johnson but they could use some more depth and a bigger body at the nose tackle position and Clinton McDonald is a great pick up here and would give them a nice rotation keeping fresh legs in the game.
180. Jacksonville Jaguars – Joshua Mauga, LB Nevada
With the hundred and eightieth selection the Jacksonville Jaguars select the Nevada inside backer Joshua Mauga. The Jags let Mike Peterson go and Darryl Smith is better suited as the strongside backer and Clint Ingram and Justin Durant are weakside backers primarily so they need an inside guy with some better size and Mauga fits the bills as a bigger backer who can stack up better against the run.
181. Miami Dolphins (from Oakland) – Worrell Williams, LB California
With the hundred and eighty first selection the Miami Dolphins select the California inside backer Worrell Williams. The little brother of D.J. Williams is a solid backer with good size who wouldn't be required to start immediately with Ayodele and Crowder currently in place but some depth behind them would be good and Worrell is probably among the best 3-4 ILB remaining.
182. Green Bay Packers – Thomas Morstead, P SMU
With the hundred and eighty second selection the Green Bay Packers select the Mustang punter Thomas Morstead. Durant Brooks missed most of last season and could still be good but promoting competition never hurts, plus, it allows them to cut the useless Derrick Frost.
183. Buffalo Bills – Quinn Johnson, FB LSU
With the hundred and eighty third selection the Buffalo Bills select the hard nosed LSU fullback Quinn Johnson. The Bills could use a solid lead back for Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson and Quinn Johnson is without a doubt one of the best available and could help improve the Bills running game even more and hopefully make it more consistent.
184. San Francisco 49ers – Daniel Holtzclaw, LB Eastern Michigan
With the hundred and eighty fourth selection the San Francisco 49ers select the productive Eastern Michigan linebacker Daniel Holtzclaw. The 49ers re-signed Takeo Spikes but he only has so much time left so they could stand to find his replacement and Holtzclaw is a playmaker who was the single bright spot on a poor Eastern Michigan squad. He would be a great TED backer opposite Patrick Willis and flanked by Lawson, Haralson and newly acquired Brown.
185. Denver Broncos – John Gill, DT/DE Northwestern
With the hundred and eighty fifth selection the Denver Broncos select the stout Northwestern defensive tackle John Gill. John Gill will draw comparisons to former Northwestern DT Luis Castillo and would be a solid addition to their squad as a 3-4 defensive end considering his strength against the run and ability to collapse the pocket.
186. Washington Redskins – Will Davis, DE Illinois
With the hundred and eighty sixth selection the Washington Redskins select Illinois defensive end Will Davis. The Redskins need a solid defensive end opposite of Andre Carter and though Will Davis is probably not going to be a starter right away but he could provide some situational pass rush ability and maybe in the future be a solid option.
187. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans) – Lydon Murtha, OT Nebraska
With the hundred and eighty seventh selection the Green Bay Packers select the athletic Nebraska offensive tackle Lydon Murtha. Lydon blew up the combine and looked super athletic and would probably be a great fit into a zone blocking scheme considering his ability and the age of current tackles Mark Tauscher and Chad Clifton.
188. Houston Texans – Bruce Johnson, CB Miami
With the hundred and eighty eighth selection the Houston Texans grab the Miami cornerback Bruce Johnson. Houston could use some more depth at cornerback and Bruce Johnson is the best Miami prospect in this draft, so, they may have lost their first round streak but at least they keep their draft streak alive… that's about all they can hang their hat on in this draft.
189. San Diego Chargers – Glen Coffee, RB Alabama
With the hundred and eighty ninth selection the San Diego Chargers select talented Alabama running back Glen "Mr. Folgers" Coffee. Coffee is a talented back that can run, catch and block and even though the Chargers have Sproles, Tomlinson, Hester and Tolbert another back couldn't hurt considering he is one of the best available for what the Chargers like to do.
190. Chicago Bears – Adrian Grady, DT Louisville
With the hundred and ninetieth selection the Chicago Bears select the Louisville defensive tackle Adrian Grady. The Bears need some depth, Dusty has trouble staying healthy and Harris and Harrison could use some help in the rotation and Grady could easily provide that for them.
191. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Ra'Shon Harris, DT Oregon
With the hundred and ninety first selection the Bucs select the big Oregon Duck defensive tackle Ra'Shon Harris. The Bucs need some space eaters inside and there aren't many available who have the talent and ability of Harris. Plugging him inside with Dre Moore and Chris Hovan will give the Bucs more talent and size at the position.
192. Detroit Lions (from Dallas) – Brandon Long, DE Michigan State
With the hundred and ninety second selection the Detroit Lions grab in-state prospect and stellar defensive end Brandon Long from Michigan State. Brandon Long has come on big time with his talent, explosion and strength and could be a great LDE in a 4-3 or an Elephant in a 3-4. He will provide ample pass rush with Cliff Avril opposite him.
193. New York Jets – Andrew Gardner, OT Georgia Tech
With the hundred and ninety third selection the New York Jets select Georgia Tech offensive tackle Andrew Gardner. The Jets need a replacement for Damien Woody and Gardner could provide that down the road, he won't be required to start right away but he would definitely be a solid fit for the smash mouth offense that Rex Ryan will implement in New York.
194. Philadelphia Eagles – Augustus Parrish, OT Kent State
With the hundred and ninety fourth selection the Philadelphia Eagles select Kent State offensive tackle Augustus Parrish. Andy Reid loves drafting offensive and defensive linemen, Augustus Parrish is the best available, seems like a natural selection for Big Andy.
195. Philadelphia Eagles (from Minnesota) – Graham Gano, K Florida State
With the hundred and ninety fifth selection the Philadelphia Eagles select Florida State kicker Graham Gano. David Akers had a horrible season and he may need some competition to make him better so the Eagles grab the best available and hopefully have their future kicker or make their current kicker better and more consistent.
196. St. Louis Rams (from Atlanta) – Tom Brandstater, QB Fresno State
With the hundred and ninety sixth selection the St. Louis Rams select Fresno State quarterback Tom Brandstater. The Rams are really high on this guy and will look to find a way to draft him as a successor to Marc Bulger down the line. He'll have the opportunity to grow and flourish in the new west coast offense and hopefully be the answer the Rams are looking for at QB for the future.
197. Dallas Cowboys (from Miami) – Will Johnson, DT/DE Michigan
With the hundred and ninety seventh selection the Dallas Cowboys select the powerful defensive tackle from Michigan in Will Johnson. 45 reps with 225 gets you drafted regardless and he could fill in for the recently departed Chris Canty and provide some serious strength opposite newly acquired Igor Olshansky who put up 225 44 times at his combine workout, that is a lot of raw power.
198. Baltimore Ravens – Lee Robinson, LB Alcorn State
With the hundred and ninety eighth selection the Baltimore Ravens select Alcorn State linebacker Lee Robinson. The Ravens lost Bart Scott and they need someone inside to compete with Tavares Gooden and Robinson could be that guy as he is a talented backer who could be a great addition to the Ravens.
199. New England Patriots – Brannan Southerland, FB Georgia
With the hundred and ninety ninth selection the New England Patriots select Georgia fullback Brannan Southerland. The Patriots don't need much but with Heath Evans gone and Kyle Eckel not the greatest option to replace him the Patriots grab Southerland to be their new blocking back and goal line runner.
200. New York Giants – Brooks Foster, WR North Carolina
With the two hundredth selection the New York Giants select the third North Carolina wide receiver in Brooks Foster. The Giants don't have many needs so they go out and grab another talented wide receiver from UNC who may develop into a viable option down the road.
201. Indianapolis Colts – Anthony Parker, OG Tennessee
With the two hundred and first selection the Indianapolis Colts grab the athletic Tennessee guard Anthony Parker. The Colts looked pretty sad when Jeff Saturday was out of the line up, Mike Pollak should be his replacement which means the Colts will need more interior depth and Parker is one of the best available.
202. Carolina Panthers – Nate Davis, QB Ball State
With the two hundred and second selection the Carolina Panthers also draft their successor quarterback in Ball State's Nate Davis. Nate Davis had second round potential but has fallen by the wayside in recent months and the Panthers could use an upgrade over Delhomme, Davis will need some time to develop so grabbing him here will give him some time to sit and hopefully become what Carolina needs at QB.
203. Tennessee Titans – Mike Thomas, WR Arizona
With the two hundred and third selection the Tennessee Titans select the Arizona speedster Mike Thomas. The Titans need help at wide receiver and they also need someone to replace Chris Carr as a kick returner, Mike Thomas is the perfect addition as a #4 wide receiver and return man.
204. Arizona Cardinals – Mike Goodson, RB Texas A&M
With the two hundred and fourth selection the Arizona Cardinals select Texas A&M running back Mike Goodson. The Cards lost J.J. Arrington and will likely cut the Edge soon and even though they drafted Moreno in the first, it is hard to pass up a talent like Goodson here who can be a returner and a third down back when Hightower and Moreno need a break.
205. Pittsburgh Steelers – Rich Orhnberger, OG Penn State
With the two hundred and fifth selection the Pittsburgh Steelers select the talented Penn State guard Rich Orhnberger. You gotta have an Ohrnberger blocking for a Roethlisberger, no brainer here.
206. Tennessee Titans – Kevin Huber, P Cincinnati
With the two hundred and sixth selection the Tennessee Titans select Cincinnati punter Kevin Huber. Craig Hentrich is getting old and losing some power in his leg and the Titans could use a replacement. Huber is one of the best in the draft and being available towards the end of the 6th for the teams potential future punter seems like a solid pick to me.
207. New England Patriots – John Phillips, TE Virginia
With the two hundred and seventh selection here the New England Patriots select Virginia tight end John Phillips. The Patriots may not re-sign Ben Watson and David Thomas isn't holding his weight so the Patriots, who are a big fan of drafting tight ends draft the best available in John Phillips from Virginia. Solid blocker, good pass catcher and great person, seems like a guy the Patriots would covet.
208. Dallas Cowboys – Otis Wiley, S Michigan State
With the two hundred and eighth selection the Dallas Cowboys select Michigan State safety Otis Wiley. The Cowboys let Roy Williams go and drafted Rashad Johnson to be a free safety and move Ken Hamlin to strong safety, but they still need depth there and Otis Wiley should provide that for them.
209. Cincinnati Bengals – Chris Miller, P Ball State
With the two hundred and ninth selection the Cincinnati Bengals select Ball State punter Chris Miller. Kyle Larson is not punting like he should so the Bengals bring in some competition to either make Larson better or allow Miller to supplant him and take the job for now and the future.

The Rams are looking to find a compliment to Steven Jackson and they want a bruiser, Summers fits that bill and together he and Jackson may form a new duo, no longer the smash and dash, now it is the smash and bash!

With the two hundred and twelfth selection the Kansas City Chiefs select the talented inside backer from Arizona in Ronnie Palmer. Kansas City needs to upgrade their interior linebacking core, guys like Donnie Edwards and Zach Thomas will only last so long, they need to use their skills and knowledge to help build for the future and Ronnie Palmer could be that TED linebacker opposite Derrick Johnson for Kansas City in the future for their 3-4 defense.
213. Seattle Seahawks – Tony Fiammeta, RB/FB Syracuse
With the two hundred and thirteenth selection the Seattle Seahawks select the versatile back from Syracuse in Tony Fiammeta. The Seahawks lost Leonard Weaver to the Eagles and have Owen Schmitt to replace him but Schmitt is more a down hill lead blocking back and doesn't really fit the west coast offense well, while Fiammeta catches well, runs well and blocks well, he would be an instant upgrade and he can also carry the rock for the Seahawks.
214. Miami Dolphins (from Cleveland) – Patrick Turner, WR USC
With the two hundred and fourteenth selection the Miami Dolphins select the gargantuan wide receiver from Southern California in Patrick Turner. Miami needs a possession receiver to compliment the tiny guys like Bess, Ginn and Camarillio and considering Wilford was a bust the Dolphins should invest in Turner who is a project but has a lot of upside and could be the answer the Dolphins are looking for.
215. Cincinnati Bengals – Stryker Sulak, DE Missouri
With the two hundred and fifteenth selection the Cincinnati Bengals grab the pass rusher with the amazing name from Missouri in Stryker Sulak. The Bengals need all the pass rush help they can get and though they did grab Robert Ayers earlier they still need more pass rush help and Sulak is the kind of player who can provide that. He'll likely be a situational guy to begin his career but he could have a bright future ahead of him if he can harness his talent.
216. Oakland Raiders – Greg Isdaner, OG West Virginia
With the two hundred and sixteenth selection the Oakland Raiders select the awesomely bearded Greg Isdaner from West Virginia. The Raiders need some offensive line depth and Isdaner has the mean streak, the talent and the look to be welcomed to the Black Hole. He'll be solid depth at both guard positions and could potentially fill in later once he's gotten NFL ready.
217. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Jacksonville) – Alex Boone, OT Ohio State
With the two hundred and seventeenth selection the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select the big tackle from Ohio State in Alex Boone. Jeremy Trueblood is nearing the end of his contract and Donald Penn was just tendered as a RFA so they could use some depth at offensive tackle and Alex Boone is a steal here considering his upside and potential.
218. Green Bay Packers – Anthony Hill, TE North Carolina State
With the two hundred and eighteenth selection the Green Bay Packers select the talented blocking tight end from N.C. State in Anthony Hill. The Packers love to take tight ends and Hill is easily the best available, he is a solid target in the passing game and is an amazing blocker and would be a great compliment to Jermichael Finley who is a pass catching tight end primarily.
219. San Francisco 49ers – C.J. Spillman, S Marshall
With the two hundred and nineteenth selection the San Francisco 49ers grab the safety from Marshall in C.J. Spillman. The 49ers don't have much in the way of their secondary, they could move Reggie Smith back there but getting an athletic and talented safety like Spillman would be a nice addition as he could be a great player down the line and will contribute immediately on special teams.
220. Buffalo Bills – Emanuel Cook, S South Carolina
With the two hundred and twentieth selection the Buffalo Bills grab Prime U and ex-Gamecock Emanuel Cook. Buffalo has a lot of talent in their secondary with Ko Simpson, George Wilson, John Wendling and Donte Whitner, but it is hard to go against BPA this late in the seventh and considering Simpson's injury problems and Whitner's off the field trouble a safety net and depth can't hurt.
221. Minnesota Vikings (from Washington) – Jamarca Sanford, S Ole Miss
With the two hundred and twenty first selection the Minnesota Vikings grab Rebel safety Jamarca Sanford. The Vikings let Sharper go to the Saints so they'll need some safety depth behind Madieu Williams who has had trouble staying healthy and Tyrell Johnson who is unproven. Not to mention he'll be a special teams gunner from day one.
222. New Orleans Saints – David Buehler, K USC
With the two hundred and twenty second selection the New Orleans Saints select the beefy kicker from SoCal in David Buehler. Martin Gramatica… no New Orleans, just no.
223. Houston Texans – Dan Gay, OT Baylor
With the two hundred and twenty third selection the Houston Texans grab the other Baylor offensive tackle in Dan Gay. Dan Gay is a great fit for the zone blocking scheme that Alex Gibbs employs and could be depth at either tackle position or even kick inside to guard and for a team that needs depth he seems like the perfect addition.
224. San Diego Chargers – Domonique Johnson, CB Jackson State
With the two hundred and twenty fourth selection the San Diego Chargers grab the project CB from Jackson State in Domonique Johnson. Johnson had the potential to slip into first day consideration but after poor forty times and work outs he finds himself on the cusp of UDFA, luckily for him, A.J. Smith likes athletic corners who are a bit of a project so I think Johnson is the pick here.
225. Denver Broncos – Antonio Dixon, DT Miami
With the two hundred and twenty fifth selection the Denver Broncos select the last slam dunk 3-4 nose tackle on the board in Miami's Antonio Dixon. The Broncos need a big body to help anchor the 3-4, Dixon is about as good as they're gonna get at this point in the draft and though it may take some time he has a good body frame to take the beating a nose tackle goes through in the NFL.
226. Pittsburgh Steelers (from Tampa Bay) – Edwin Williams, C Maryland
With the two hundred and twenty sixth selection the Pittsburgh Steelers select the versatile center from Maryland in Edwin Williams. Williams can play numerous positions on the line, he would be quality depth at any of the interior positions and is more athletic then the guys currently in place. He probably won't be a starter right away but down the line he could slide into the line up.
227. Dallas Cowboys – Chris Pressley, FB Wisconsin
With the two hundred and twenty seventh selection the Dallas Cowboys select the hard nosed Wisconsin fullback Chris Pressley. Deon Anderson is alright in terms of lead blocking but Chris Pressley is an animal, having him running through the hole with Marion Barber behind him is not a task I would look forward to taking on if I were an NFL defender.
228. New York Jets – Britton Colquitt, P Tennessee
With the two hundred and twenty eighth selection the New York Jets select Tennessee punter Britton Colquitt. Reggie Hodges sucks and Britton's brother Dustin is doing really well for the Chiefs. Seems like a good use of a seventh rounder.

With the two hundred and twenty ninth selection the Chicago Bears select the other talented Rutgers receiver in Tiquan Underwood. Tiquan is faster and more quick twitch then his teammate Britt and would be a nice additional down the field target for new quarterback Jay Cutler to get the ball to.

With the two hundred and thirtieth selection the Eagles select the big and nasty Tennessee guard/tackle Ramon Foster. Despite getting Jason Peters and Stacy Andrews this offseason I can still see Andy Reid using his plethora of selections on some more husky gentleman and Foster offers solid versatility as a guy who can play guard or tackle.
231. Minnesota Vikings – Sammie Stroughter, WR Oregon State
With the two hundred and thirty first selection the Vikings put tabs on the versatile returner and receiver from Oregon State in Sammie Stroughter. Best player available really, adds value as a dynamic and electrifying return man but will never be more then a slot option or number four receiver.
232. Jacksonville Jaguars (from Miami) – Jeremiah Johnson, RB Oregon
With the two hundred and thirty second selection the Jacksonville Jaguars grab an amazing back who has slipped significantly in Oregon's Jeremiah Johnson. He could easily go higher then this but with running back being a subpar need for most NFL teams and the draft being laden with talent, Johnson falls here but he would fit in nicely in Jacksonville now that MJD is the bell cow back.
233. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Baltimore) – Robert Francois, LB Boston College
With the two hundred and thirty third selection the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select the big linebacker from Boston College. The Bucs lost Cato June and Derrick Brooks and currently Angelo Crowell and Jermaine Phillips are slated to start outside, but they could use some more youth and depth at the position and Francois is a natural strongside backer.
234. New England Patriots – Brian Toal, LB/FB Boston College
With the two hundred and thirty fourth selection the New England Patriots grab the linebacker/fullback from Boston College in Brian Toal. Patriots love guys who can do more then one thing and Toal is a solid backer and fullback, albeit he has some injury concerns but considering the wealth of picks the Patriots have they can take a flier to get this versatile backer.
235. Denver Broncos (from Atlanta) – Trimane Goddard, S North Carolina
With the two hundred and thirty fifth selection the Denver Broncos select the talented Tar Heel safety. The Broncos landed the veteran safety Brian Dawkins but he only has so much time left, he can help bring Goddard along who at this point in the draft is a steal considering his upside and potential and I think he can be a starter 2-3 years down the road.
236. New York Giants – Nic Harris, LB/S Oklahoma
With the two hundred and thirty sixth selection the New York Giants select safety/linebacker hybrid Nic Harris. Giants need more linebacker depth and they need some safety depth, easily the best player available and he fills two needs. Seems like a slam dunk selection to me.
237. Indianapolis Colts – Cary Harris, CB USC
With the two hundred and thirty seventh selection the Indianapolis Colts select USC cornerback Cary Harris. Harris has seen his stock drop quite a bit after running a subpar forty yard dash at the combine but he still has the necessary talents to be a solid corner in a cover 2 and would add some much needed depth to the Colts roster.
238. Miami Dolphins (from Carolina) – Andy Kemp, OG Wisconsin
With the two hundred and thirty eighth selection the Miami Dolphins select the other big offensive guard from Wisconsin in Andy Kemp. Bill Parcells like his offensive like Andy Reid likes his cheese steaks, big and sloppy. Kemp is a big and nasty lineman who will give the Dolphins some added depth and girth inside on the line.
239. Tennessee Titans – Ellis Lankster, CB West Virginia
With the two hundred and thirty ninth selection the Tennessee Titans select the Mountaineer corner Ellis Lankster. Lankster is the best player available and fits a need since Chris Carr is gone and Nick Harper is aging. They got their #2 of the future earlier with Phonso, now they can get their nickel/dime back of the future in Lankster.
240. Arizona Cardinals – Nick Reed, DE/LB Oregon
With the two hundred and fortieth selection the Arizona Cardinals select the pass rush specialist from Oregon in Nick Reed. Reed may not be the fastest, biggest or meanest but he gets to the quarterback and he gets it done. The Cardinals have no edge threat and the guys who are there are old and injury prone, they need to inspire fear with their pass rush, Nick Reed could help.
241. Pittsburgh Steelers – Kenny McKinley, WR South Carolina
With the two hundred and forty first selection the Steelers put tabs on the talented Gamecock receiver Kenny McKinley. Limas Sweed appears to have butter fingers and stone hands, Nate Washington is gone and Hines Ward is aging. Wide receiver seems like a legitimate concern for the defending Super Bowl Champions.
242. Tennessee Titans – Stanley Arnoux, LB Wake Forest
With the two hundred and forty second selection the Titans grab the other talented (but not nearly as much) Wake Forest linebacker Stanley Arnoux. Stephen Tulloch is finally finding some consistency at MLB but they could use some more depth behind him and Arnoux is the kind of backer who would fit nicely into the Titans defensive scheme.
243. Washington Redskins – Cecil Newton, C Tennessee State
With the two hundred and forty third selection Washington continues to get young on the offensive line by selecting the emerging center from Tennessee State in Cecil Newton. Rabach is old, Kendall is old, Fabini is old and Thomas is old. They need youth and they need it now, Cecil Newton is easily the best available and when Rabach leaves he should be ready to take over, or at least provide depth behind the next heir apparent.
244. San Francisco 49ers – Sam Swank, K Wake Forest
With the two hundred and forty fourth selection the 49ers grab the talented and consistent Demon Deacon kicker in Sam "I'm So" Swank. Joe Nedney is losing some power in his leg and won't be able to keep his job much longer, Sam Swank is solid and would be an excellent kickoff guy as well.

With the two hundred and forty fifth selection the Seahawks grab the polished Longhorn receiver Quan Cosby. Cosby is a little undersized but he could be the next Bobby Engram for the Seahawks as a small guy who gets open and makes all the tough catches.

With the two hundred and forty sixth selection the Bears grab Wyoming running back Devin Moore. They need a zippy compliment for Matt Forte and Moore is definitely the best available. He also adds versatility as a great return man but it is not like Chicago is lacking there.
247. Seattle Seahawks – Ian Johnson, RB Boise State
With the two hundred and forty seventh selection the Seahawks select Boise State running back Ian Johnson. Remembered for his statue of liberty touchdown against Oklahoma and then proposing to his girlfriend, Ian Johnson is a guy who makes plays and for a team looking for consistency from their backs he could definitely help out with his speed and versatility.
248. Seattle Seahawks – Bear Pascoe, TE Fresno State
With the two hundred and forty eighth selection the Seattle Seahawks select Fresno State tight end Bear Pascoe. The Seahawks got a game breaker in John Carlson last year but they need depth and a blocker, Bear Pascoe can do that for them and would be a nice addition.

With the two hundred and forty ninth selection the Bengals grab the massive Bronco wide receiver Jamarko Simmons. He broke all of Greg Jennings records at Western Michigan and he an absolute beast, he was a running back so he knows how to run after the catch and could easily be the next late round big bodied wide receiver that goes on to do great things in the NFL.
250. Jacksonville Jaguars – Ray Feinga, OG BYU
With the two hundred and fiftieth selection the Jaguars select the big and nasty Cougar guard Ray Feinga, the Jags have Manuwai, Naeole and Williams all coming off season ending injuries, depth and youth is required at the interior offensive line positions and Feinga should provide that.
251. Chicago Bears – Cedric Dockery, OG Texas
With the two hundred and fifty-first selection the Chicago Bears select Texas Longhorn road grater Cedric "Derrick's Lil Bro" Dockery. The Bears need some interior offensive line depth after free agent acquisition Frank Omiyale ended up in the starting role, though they did get Shaffer and Pace outside, those guys are aging and they need youth inside, Dockery will provide it.
252. Cincinnati Bengals – Jeremy Gilchrist, WR Hampton
With the two hundred and fifty second selection the Cincinnati Bengals grab another wide receiver in Hampton's Jeremy Gilchrist but he's no ordinary wide receiver, he also doubles as one of the most explosive kick returners in football and would be a nice addition to the Bengals already loaded draft seeing as they haven't had a decent returner… or a return in a long while.

I said three picks ago that Jacksonville needed interior offensive line depth, well, they got their guard and now they get the center as an insurance policy for the oft injured Brad Meester.

With the two hundred and fifty fourth selection the Arizona Cardinals select Tar Heel tight end Richard Quinn. The Cards have two solid pass catchers in Ben Patrick and Leonard Pope but they need a blocker and Richard Quinn may be the best. He adds another layer to the Cardinals already feared offensive attack.

With the two hundred and fifty-fifth pick the Lions go best available player and grab the versatile guard from Ball State in Robert Brewster. I think Brewster will give the Lions some scheme versatility as a guy who can play either guard position or right tackle. He is solid depth and could develop into a starter if Jeff Backus can't handle guard or Stephen Peterman falters.

Miami needs a possession receiver to compliment the tiny guys like Bess, Ginn and Camarillio and considering Wilford was a bust the Dolphins should invest in Turner who is a project but has a lot of upside and could be the answer the Dolphins are looking for.215. Cincinnati Bengals – Stryker Sulak, DE Missouri
With the two hundred and fifteenth selection the Cincinnati Bengals grab the pass rusher with the amazing name from Missouri in Stryker Sulak. The Bengals need all the pass rush help they can get and though they did grab Robert Ayers earlier they still need more pass rush help and Sulak is the kind of player who can provide that. He'll likely be a situational guy to begin his career but he could have a bright future ahead of him if he can harness his talent.216. Oakland Raiders – Greg Isdaner, OG West Virginia
With the two hundred and sixteenth selection the Oakland Raiders select the awesomely bearded Greg Isdaner from West Virginia. The Raiders need some offensive line depth and Isdaner has the mean streak, the talent and the look to be welcomed to the Black Hole. He'll be solid depth at both guard positions and could potentially fill in later once he's gotten NFL ready.217. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Jacksonville) – Alex Boone, OT Ohio State
With the two hundred and seventeenth selection the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select the big tackle from Ohio State in Alex Boone. Jeremy Trueblood is nearing the end of his contract and Donald Penn was just tendered as a RFA so they could use some depth at offensive tackle and Alex Boone is a steal here considering his upside and potential.218. Green Bay Packers – Anthony Hill, TE North Carolina State
With the two hundred and eighteenth selection the Green Bay Packers select the talented blocking tight end from N.C. State in Anthony Hill. The Packers love to take tight ends and Hill is easily the best available, he is a solid target in the passing game and is an amazing blocker and would be a great compliment to Jermichael Finley who is a pass catching tight end primarily.219. San Francisco 49ers – C.J. Spillman, S Marshall
With the two hundred and nineteenth selection the San Francisco 49ers grab the safety from Marshall in C.J. Spillman. The 49ers don't have much in the way of their secondary, they could move Reggie Smith back there but getting an athletic and talented safety like Spillman would be a nice addition as he could be a great player down the line and will contribute immediately on special teams.220. Buffalo Bills – Emanuel Cook, S South Carolina
With the two hundred and twentieth selection the Buffalo Bills grab Prime U and ex-Gamecock Emanuel Cook. Buffalo has a lot of talent in their secondary with Ko Simpson, George Wilson, John Wendling and Donte Whitner, but it is hard to go against BPA this late in the seventh and considering Simpson's injury problems and Whitner's off the field trouble a safety net and depth can't hurt.221. Minnesota Vikings (from Washington) – Jamarca Sanford, S Ole Miss
With the two hundred and twenty first selection the Minnesota Vikings grab Rebel safety Jamarca Sanford. The Vikings let Sharper go to the Saints so they'll need some safety depth behind Madieu Williams who has had trouble staying healthy and Tyrell Johnson who is unproven. Not to mention he'll be a special teams gunner from day one.222. New Orleans Saints – David Buehler, K USC
With the two hundred and twenty second selection the New Orleans Saints select the beefy kicker from SoCal in David Buehler. Martin Gramatica… no New Orleans, just no.223. Houston Texans – Dan Gay, OT Baylor
With the two hundred and twenty third selection the Houston Texans grab the other Baylor offensive tackle in Dan Gay. Dan Gay is a great fit for the zone blocking scheme that Alex Gibbs employs and could be depth at either tackle position or even kick inside to guard and for a team that needs depth he seems like the perfect addition.224. San Diego Chargers – Domonique Johnson, CB Jackson State
With the two hundred and twenty fourth selection the San Diego Chargers grab the project CB from Jackson State in Domonique Johnson. Johnson had the potential to slip into first day consideration but after poor forty times and work outs he finds himself on the cusp of UDFA, luckily for him, A.J. Smith likes athletic corners who are a bit of a project so I think Johnson is the pick here.225. Denver Broncos – Antonio Dixon, DT Miami
With the two hundred and twenty fifth selection the Denver Broncos select the last slam dunk 3-4 nose tackle on the board in Miami's Antonio Dixon. The Broncos need a big body to help anchor the 3-4, Dixon is about as good as they're gonna get at this point in the draft and though it may take some time he has a good body frame to take the beating a nose tackle goes through in the NFL.226. Pittsburgh Steelers (from Tampa Bay) – Edwin Williams, C Maryland
With the two hundred and twenty sixth selection the Pittsburgh Steelers select the versatile center from Maryland in Edwin Williams. Williams can play numerous positions on the line, he would be quality depth at any of the interior positions and is more athletic then the guys currently in place. He probably won't be a starter right away but down the line he could slide into the line up.227. Dallas Cowboys – Chris Pressley, FB Wisconsin
With the two hundred and twenty seventh selection the Dallas Cowboys select the hard nosed Wisconsin fullback Chris Pressley. Deon Anderson is alright in terms of lead blocking but Chris Pressley is an animal, having him running through the hole with Marion Barber behind him is not a task I would look forward to taking on if I were an NFL defender.228. New York Jets – Britton Colquitt, P Tennessee
With the two hundred and twenty eighth selection the New York Jets select Tennessee punter Britton Colquitt. Reggie Hodges sucks and Britton's brother Dustin is doing really well for the Chiefs. Seems like a good use of a seventh rounder.229. Chicago Bears – Tiquan Underwood, WR Rutgers
With the two hundred and twenty ninth selection the Chicago Bears select the other talented Rutgers receiver in Tiquan Underwood. Tiquan is faster and more quick twitch then his teammate Britt and would be a nice additional down the field target for new quarterback Jay Cutler to get the ball to.230. Philadelphia Eagles – Ramon Foster, OG Tennessee
With the two hundred and thirtieth selection the Eagles select the big and nasty Tennessee guard/tackle Ramon Foster. Despite getting Jason Peters and Stacy Andrews this offseason I can still see Andy Reid using his plethora of selections on some more husky gentleman and Foster offers solid versatility as a guy who can play guard or tackle.231. Minnesota Vikings – Sammie Stroughter, WR Oregon State
With the two hundred and thirty first selection the Vikings put tabs on the versatile returner and receiver from Oregon State in Sammie Stroughter. Best player available really, adds value as a dynamic and electrifying return man but will never be more then a slot option or number four receiver.232. Jacksonville Jaguars (from Miami) – Jeremiah Johnson, RB Oregon
With the two hundred and thirty second selection the Jacksonville Jaguars grab an amazing back who has slipped significantly in Oregon's Jeremiah Johnson. He could easily go higher then this but with running back being a subpar need for most NFL teams and the draft being laden with talent, Johnson falls here but he would fit in nicely in Jacksonville now that MJD is the bell cow back.233. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Baltimore) – Robert Francois, LB Boston College
With the two hundred and thirty third selection the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select the big linebacker from Boston College. The Bucs lost Cato June and Derrick Brooks and currently Angelo Crowell and Jermaine Phillips are slated to start outside, but they could use some more youth and depth at the position and Francois is a natural strongside backer.234. New England Patriots – Brian Toal, LB/FB Boston College
With the two hundred and thirty fourth selection the New England Patriots grab the linebacker/fullback from Boston College in Brian Toal. Patriots love guys who can do more then one thing and Toal is a solid backer and fullback, albeit he has some injury concerns but considering the wealth of picks the Patriots have they can take a flier to get this versatile backer.235. Denver Broncos (from Atlanta) – Trimane Goddard, S North Carolina
With the two hundred and thirty fifth selection the Denver Broncos select the talented Tar Heel safety. The Broncos landed the veteran safety Brian Dawkins but he only has so much time left, he can help bring Goddard along who at this point in the draft is a steal considering his upside and potential and I think he can be a starter 2-3 years down the road.236. New York Giants – Nic Harris, LB/S Oklahoma
With the two hundred and thirty sixth selection the New York Giants select safety/linebacker hybrid Nic Harris. Giants need more linebacker depth and they need some safety depth, easily the best player available and he fills two needs. Seems like a slam dunk selection to me.237. Indianapolis Colts – Cary Harris, CB USC
With the two hundred and thirty seventh selection the Indianapolis Colts select USC cornerback Cary Harris. Harris has seen his stock drop quite a bit after running a subpar forty yard dash at the combine but he still has the necessary talents to be a solid corner in a cover 2 and would add some much needed depth to the Colts roster.238. Miami Dolphins (from Carolina) – Andy Kemp, OG Wisconsin
With the two hundred and thirty eighth selection the Miami Dolphins select the other big offensive guard from Wisconsin in Andy Kemp. Bill Parcells like his offensive like Andy Reid likes his cheese steaks, big and sloppy. Kemp is a big and nasty lineman who will give the Dolphins some added depth and girth inside on the line.239. Tennessee Titans – Ellis Lankster, CB West Virginia
With the two hundred and thirty ninth selection the Tennessee Titans select the Mountaineer corner Ellis Lankster. Lankster is the best player available and fits a need since Chris Carr is gone and Nick Harper is aging. They got their #2 of the future earlier with Phonso, now they can get their nickel/dime back of the future in Lankster.240. Arizona Cardinals – Nick Reed, DE/LB Oregon
With the two hundred and fortieth selection the Arizona Cardinals select the pass rush specialist from Oregon in Nick Reed. Reed may not be the fastest, biggest or meanest but he gets to the quarterback and he gets it done. The Cardinals have no edge threat and the guys who are there are old and injury prone, they need to inspire fear with their pass rush, Nick Reed could help.241. Pittsburgh Steelers – Kenny McKinley, WR South Carolina
With the two hundred and forty first selection the Steelers put tabs on the talented Gamecock receiver Kenny McKinley. Limas Sweed appears to have butter fingers and stone hands, Nate Washington is gone and Hines Ward is aging. Wide receiver seems like a legitimate concern for the defending Super Bowl Champions.242. Tennessee Titans – Stanley Arnoux, LB Wake Forest
With the two hundred and forty second selection the Titans grab the other talented (but not nearly as much) Wake Forest linebacker Stanley Arnoux. Stephen Tulloch is finally finding some consistency at MLB but they could use some more depth behind him and Arnoux is the kind of backer who would fit nicely into the Titans defensive scheme.243. Washington Redskins – Cecil Newton, C Tennessee State
With the two hundred and forty third selection Washington continues to get young on the offensive line by selecting the emerging center from Tennessee State in Cecil Newton. Rabach is old, Kendall is old, Fabini is old and Thomas is old. They need youth and they need it now, Cecil Newton is easily the best available and when Rabach leaves he should be ready to take over, or at least provide depth behind the next heir apparent.244. San Francisco 49ers – Sam Swank, K Wake Forest
With the two hundred and forty fourth selection the 49ers grab the talented and consistent Demon Deacon kicker in Sam "I'm So" Swank. Joe Nedney is losing some power in his leg and won't be able to keep his job much longer, Sam Swank is solid and would be an excellent kickoff guy as well.245. Seattle Seahawks – Quan Cosby, WR Texas
With the two hundred and forty fifth selection the Seahawks grab the polished Longhorn receiver Quan Cosby. Cosby is a little undersized but he could be the next Bobby Engram for the Seahawks as a small guy who gets open and makes all the tough catches.246. Chicago Bears – Devin Moore, RB Wyoming
With the two hundred and forty sixth selection the Bears grab Wyoming running back Devin Moore. They need a zippy compliment for Matt Forte and Moore is definitely the best available. He also adds versatility as a great return man but it is not like Chicago is lacking there.247. Seattle Seahawks – Ian Johnson, RB Boise State
With the two hundred and forty seventh selection the Seahawks select Boise State running back Ian Johnson. Remembered for his statue of liberty touchdown against Oklahoma and then proposing to his girlfriend, Ian Johnson is a guy who makes plays and for a team looking for consistency from their backs he could definitely help out with his speed and versatility.248. Seattle Seahawks – Bear Pascoe, TE Fresno State
With the two hundred and forty eighth selection the Seattle Seahawks select Fresno State tight end Bear Pascoe. The Seahawks got a game breaker in John Carlson last year but they need depth and a blocker, Bear Pascoe can do that for them and would be a nice addition.249. Cincinnati Bengals – Jamarko Simmons, WR Western Michigan
With the two hundred and forty ninth selection the Bengals grab the massive Bronco wide receiver Jamarko Simmons. He broke all of Greg Jennings records at Western Michigan and he an absolute beast, he was a running back so he knows how to run after the catch and could easily be the next late round big bodied wide receiver that goes on to do great things in the NFL.250. Jacksonville Jaguars – Ray Feinga, OG BYU
With the two hundred and fiftieth selection the Jaguars select the big and nasty Cougar guard Ray Feinga, the Jags have Manuwai, Naeole and Williams all coming off season ending injuries, depth and youth is required at the interior offensive line positions and Feinga should provide that.251. Chicago Bears – Cedric Dockery, OG Texas
With the two hundred and fifty-first selection the Chicago Bears select Texas Longhorn road grater Cedric "Derrick's Lil Bro" Dockery. The Bears need some interior offensive line depth after free agent acquisition Frank Omiyale ended up in the starting role, though they did get Shaffer and Pace outside, those guys are aging and they need youth inside, Dockery will provide it.252. Cincinnati Bengals – Jeremy Gilchrist, WR Hampton
With the two hundred and fifty second selection the Cincinnati Bengals grab another wide receiver in Hampton's Jeremy Gilchrist but he's no ordinary wide receiver, he also doubles as one of the most explosive kick returners in football and would be a nice addition to the Bengals already loaded draft seeing as they haven't had a decent returner… or a return in a long while.253. Jacksonville Jaguars – Brett Helms, C LSU
With the two hundred and fifty third selection the Jacksonville Jaguars select the athletic LSU center Brett Helms. I said three picks ago that Jacksonville needed interior offensive line depth, well, they got their guard and now they get the center as an insurance policy for the oft injured Brad Meester.254. Arizona Cardinals – Richard Quinn, TE North Carolina
With the two hundred and fifty fourth selection the Arizona Cardinals select Tar Heel tight end Richard Quinn. The Cards have two solid pass catchers in Ben Patrick and Leonard Pope but they need a blocker and Richard Quinn may be the best. He adds another layer to the Cardinals already feared offensive attack.255. Detroit Lions – Robert Brewster, G/T Ball State
With the two hundred and fifty-fifth pick the Lions go best available player and grab the versatile guard from Ball State in Robert Brewster. I think Brewster will give the Lions some scheme versatility as a guy who can play either guard position or right tackle. He is solid depth and could develop into a starter if Jeff Backus can't handle guard or Stephen Peterman falters.256. Kansas City Chiefs – DeAngelo Willingham, CB Tennessee
With the two hundred and fifty-sixth selection, Mr. Irrelevant is Tennessee cornerback DeAngelo Willingham! A talented corner who could go much earlier but he's available here and Kansas City would like some depth behind Carr and Flowers.
