Washington State Pro Day

Per NFL Prospect analyst Gil Brandt:

The hot prospect at Washington State’s March 11 pro day was WR Brandon Gibson (6-0 1/8, 206 pounds). Just two teams came to watch the wide receiver work out, as he wasn’t expected to run, instead waiting to do so at a private workout at Seattle’s Chief Sealth High School on March 28. Gibson was among nine players to work out indoors on AstroTurf and did put up 10 bench-press repetitions.

Also noteworthy was the performance of QB Gary Rogers (6-6 3/8, 224 pounds), who ran 4.74 and 4.78 seconds in the 40-yard dash and posted a 35-inch vertical, a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump, a 4.23-second short shuttle and a 6.99-second three-cone drill.

Gary Rogers is an interesting prospect but the real puzzle is Brandon Gibson who could easily be an early second day selection. But I won't know for sure until I find out how his private workouts go.

UPDATE: Brandon Gibson finally was able to work out, here are his results courtesy of NFL.com:

WR Brandon Gibson (6-0 1/8, 206 pounds) ran the 40 in 4.63 seconds against the wind and 4.58 and 4.60 seconds with it. He also had a 34-inch vertical leap, a 9-foot, 5-inch broad jump, and times of 4.54 seconds in the short shuttle and 6.94 seconds in the three-cone drill.

From the sounds of it, Gibson did not have a good workout and it will probably damage his stock quite a bit as he was never really that high name a prospect to begin with.
