Dez Bryant to lose College Eligibility

Oklahoma State's main playmaker and the potential #1 wide receiver in the 2010 draft may have no more college snaps left to pad his already impressive highlight reel. As reported by the New York Times Dez Bryant has lost his eligibility to finish his junior and senior seasons with the Cowboys because of an infraction that can be simply put "failed to openly disclose to the NCAA the full details of his interaction with a former NFL player not affiliated with OSU."

Who was that former NFL player not affiliated with Oklahoma State?

IT'S YA BOY PRIME!

Yup, good ol' Prime is the reason for another wide receivers strife, first Crabtree, now Dez Bryant and it is only a matter of time before the Devine one, Noel Devine of West Virginia finds a way to have his friendship with Deion Sanders blow up in his face.

Anyways, Dez Bryant was over at Prime's house having a good ol' time and he was questioned about it, he lied and said he didn't visit and the NCAA is not a fan of being lied to. So now Dez Bryant faces massive repercussions for a little white lie he told in a panic.

Bryant currently has 17 receptions, 323 yards and 4 TDs for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and has been an integral part of their three headed offensive attack along with QB Zac Robinson and RB Kendall Hunter. However, it is likely that Dez Bryant loses some huge stock in the draft and though he is eligible to declare he very well could find his way back into the NCAA for one more year if he deems so.

I think Dez would be well served to appeal to the courts and throw himself at the mercy of the board on the defense that he was a confused and panicked kid and didn't really know the consequences of his actions. That is his best recourse if he wants to knock off some of the flack that he is sure to get come draft prep and interview time, or he could take the Mike Williams route and head to Athlete's Plus and work his butt off in order to be in game shape for April and the draft. Either way, the poor kid has some real decisions to make ahead of him and I for one hope it works out well for him.
